SEICAA and the Community Action Partnership

What is a Community Action Agency?

Simply put, a Community Action Agency (CAA) is a nonprofit organization that conducts a wide variety of social services to help vulnerable populations break the cycle of poverty and become self-sufficient.

There are eight CAAs in Idaho:

SEICAA and its sister CAAs are among the 1,000+ Community Action Partnership organizations across the country that make up the National Community Action Partnership.

What Makes Community Action Agencies Unique

Many poverty-related organizations focus on one specific area of need, such as job training, healthcare, or housing. CAAs, on the other hand, both engage with low-income populations to identify their needs and address them through a comprehensive approach to help them attain self-sufficiency. We further develop partnerships with other community organizations, elected officials, and private sectors to administer a full range of coordinated programs designed to have a measurable impact on poverty.
