Our Avenues for Hope Campaign for Veterans

The 2024 Avenues for Hope Housing Challenge begins at 8:00am on December 9, 2024!

Avenues for Hope, a Home Partnership Foundation initiative, helps enhance resources for housing nonprofits and services – like us – throughout Idaho.

We’re raising funds to better accommodate veterans staying at our Freedom Landing Zone (FLZ) emergency shelter.

With your help, we’ll be able to:

  • Provide welcome kits (linens, pillows, towels, etc.) for veterans entering the FLZ
  • Shop for groceries
  • Transport veterans to necessary appointments
  • Cover medication, dental, and vision costs for uninsured veterans until our team has helped them enroll for benefits

We hope to raise $5,000 this year. Below are our donation levels for this year’s campaign:

  • $25 – Helps pay for welcome packages and groceries.
  • $50 – Helps pay for transportation to and from necessary appointments.
  • $75 – Helps pay for medications for uninsured participants.
  • $100 – Helps pay for dental and vision costs for uninsured participants.

The “Act” in Impact

Our service costs (not including operation costs) exceeded the funds we raised last year. Every dollar raised last year helped:
  • Move 28 veterans into the FLZ
  • Move 12 veterans out of the FLZ and into permanent housing
  • Purchase clothing, linens, furnishing, hygiene products, etc. ($1,749.34)
  • Purchase groceries ($542.32)
  • Transport veterans to necessary appointments ($125.00)

Who Can Donate?

Anyone may donate. Donations through the Avenues for Hope online portal to charitable nonprofit organizations are tax-deductible and cannot be refunded. Contributions may be made via credit and debit card only.

Why Donate Through Avenues for Hope?

A campaign match from the Avenues for Hope host, The Home Partnership Foundation, is available for SEICAA through Avenues for Hope. The Home Partnership Foundation provides a $1:$1 match for online gifts up to $2,500 (for example, a $25.00 donation turns into a $50.00 donation). Offline donations or donations made through other platforms cannot be matched. Additionally, SEICAA is eligible for “Challenge Prizes,” which are bonus funds awarded to participating organizations for the number of donations they receive and when they receive them.
